Bullying,  Mental Health

Youth and suicide prevention.

This is a report I found at The Trevor Project, they contacted more than 400 school districts in California and reviewed their student suicide prevention policies, the finding was that 86% of the school districts do have a student suicide prevention policy.

This report is extremely important because students spend about 8 hrs a day at school, and if they are involved in extracurricular activites (clubs, sports, arts) the amount spent in school grounds could go up to 12 hrs. That is half a day at school by themselves.

Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among young people, and if the kids are being bullied or suffering from some sort of mental health condition, it is far more likely they would consider attempting suicide.
